Tour program.

Day 1.

Group arrives to Salekhard, hotel accommodation. Survey excursion round Salekhard, only town located at the Polar Circle, presentation of certificates acknowledging fact of crossing the Arctic Circle.

Day 2.

Transfer from Salekhard to Shuryshkary (helicopter). Arriving to Shuryshkary village, journey to the place of hunting (snowmobiles). Accommodation in tent camp (hunter’s log house). Instructional advice for accident prevention. Learning area (territory) of hunting. Ceremony of worship local spirits, throwing coins and tie bands with coins on the holy tree branches – for successful hunt and placing goose contours. Preparations for hunt: preparing arms and equipment, placing hunter’s hider, arrangement of contours and volume stuffed geese.

Days 3-5. Geese hunting.

Morning geese hunting (at the morning dawn). Photo- and video filming with bagged trophy. Make lunch from extracted goose. Ceremony of opening hunting season. Evening goose hunting (at evening migration).

Day 6.

Transfer back to Salekhard. Hotel accommodation. Visit to open air natural and ethnographic complex in Gorno-Knyazevsk village, excursion with ceremonies. Lunch in chum (traditional dishes).  The natural and ethnographic complex presents way of life and culture of the northern native minorities (Finno-Ugric language family). Bath-house and dinner at “Hunting” restaurant.

Day 7.

Group departs from Salekhard.

The route does not require special physical training and special equipment. Tour participants should have appropriate shoes and clothing enabling to feel comfortable in the northern natural conditions.

Compulsory conditions:

To have with: hunting permit, license to bear and storage fire-arms, gun, cartridges (no more than 400 pieces per 1 person). Cartridges: "3" – 50 pieces, "0000" – 100 pieces, binoculars (1 unit per group), camera or video camera (if you wish to record hunting process), sun glasses, camouflage cloak "dirty snow" (white with black spots), clothing to change (down jacket, thermal underwear, warm socks), shoes (winter boots, rubber boots – water mocassins or other to cross river-lines obstacles), thermos, camp utensils, personal hygiene articles (towel, tooth-paste and brush etc.). At tourists will group may be supplied with certified army packed meal (breakfast, lunch, supper) and/or Russian made sublimated products.

Visit to the Shemanovsky museum and exhibition complex where presented are ethnographic, archaeology, paleontology and other interesting expositions narrating about Yamal history, culture and traditional way of life of the Extreme North indigenous minority peoples. Dinner at “Moscovsky” restaurant (restaurant is located on Torch bridge at a height of 96 m, there is viewing point).
